Estate Planning
Avoid probate and decide who will make decisions for you
Living Trusts
Avoid probate. Probate is slow and expensive. Attorney’s fees and court filing fees on a $2 million estate will exceed $25,000 and take a minimum of 6 months to a year to change ownership to the beneficiaries.
- Maintain family privacy.
- Usually transfers in a trust can be administered quickly and at nominal cost.
Wills
- You choose who will receive your estate.
- You choose who the Guardians for your minor children will be.
Durable Powers of Attorney
You decide who will handle your finances if you are temporarily or permanently incapacitated.
Advance Health Care Directives
- You decide who will make health care decisions for you if you are unable to do so.
- Make your wishes regarding end of life decisions known now.
- Make your burial wishes known now.
Probate
If the decedent did not have a trust, or a will, we can assist you with the court probate process, to transfer property to the intended beneficiaries.
Trust Administration
Even property that is in a living trust must be distributed in a way that satisfies the decedent’s wishes. If you are the surviving spouse, or the trustee, you have a fiduciary duty to administer the trust properly. We can help you carry out these duties.
